What should I post for my small business? A simple 30-day plan

The hardest part of social media isn't posting — it's deciding what to post. Staring at a blank screen is where most small businesses give up. So here's the trick the pros use: you don't invent something new every day, you rotate a handful of post types. Learn these five and you'll never run dry.

The five post types that fill any month

  1. Educate. Teach one small, useful thing a customer would thank you for. Builds trust and reach.
  2. Show. Behind the scenes — how it's made, your workspace, your hands at work. People buy from people.
  3. Prove. A review, a result, a happy customer, a before/after. Proof beats promises.
  4. Connect. Your story, your why, an opinion. This is what makes people follow you, not just your product.
  5. Invite. The soft ask — an offer, a booking, a "DM to order." You've earned it with the four above.

That's it. Every good post is one of these five. Once you see content this way, "what do I post?" becomes "which of my five is it today?"

A 30-day starter plan

Post 3–4 times a week and rotate the types so it never feels repetitive:

Notice you only "Invite" (sell) about once a week. That ratio — mostly give, occasionally ask — is why it works.

Write it so it actually lands

Skip "New stock available!" Lead with the feeling and one specific detail: "The kind of morning that deserves something warm. Boxes of six, ready by 10am — DM to grab one." A concrete detail makes it real; a clear ask makes it easy to act on.

The honest hard part

Knowing what to post is the easy 20%. Doing it every week — writing, designing, scheduling — while running the actual business is the 80% that breaks people. That's the exact job an AI marketing team takes off your plate: it plans the month using a framework like this, writes each post in your voice, designs it on-brand, and hands it to you to approve. You keep the business; the consistency is handled.

Never stare at a blank screen again.

Tell the team about your business once. It plans and designs your month; you just approve. 7-day free trial.
